Crystal Lake’s developmentally disabled care unit provides a complete spectrum of care, services, and recreational programs for a full range of disabilities and functionality levels. The DD unit is situated in its own wing, fostering greater social interaction and communication. The program offers activities, entertainment and special events, weekly excursions to parks and malls, a sensory and stimulation room, as well as over 80 volunteer groups visiting regularly!

Crystal Lake provides care for numerous developmental disabilities, including:


  • Mental retardation
  • Down’s Syndrome
  • Cerebral palsy
  • Huntington’s disease
  • Traumatic brain injury
  • Sensory deficiencies
